Q: Is this a race?
A: No, this is a ride – generally between 16-20 mph depending on the terrain and fuel level – we stop when we are hungry, thirsty, or need a nature break
Q: How many riders are there?
A: We’ve had as few as 3 and as many as 10
Q: Is there a support vehicle?
A: No, unless you arrange for it – we have been fortunate in the past and have a support vehicle for the ride – but, we do not plan for it until someone confirms it
Q: What do you bring?
A: Up to you – but, I bring the following: tubes, co2 cartridges, inflator, spare tire, couple water bottles, telephone, credit card, cash, and chamois creme
Q: Where do you sleep on Day 1?
A: Lodging has historically been one of the hotels near downtown Aiken
Q: Why no entry fee, t-shirt, or medal?
A: Its not about that – its about riding your bike across the state
Q: I live in Gville (or, somewhere else) – how do I get to HHI for the start?
A: You are responsible for your transport – but, I will track people traveling from Gville to HHI in the effort to coordinate car-pools – and, will post that information as it is learned.
Q: I live in HHI (or, somewhere else) – how do I get home from Gville?
A: You are responsible for your transport – but, I will track people traveling from HHI to Gville in the effort to coordinate car-pools – and, will post that information as it is learned.
